    "Learn to Read, Read to Learn"  
    Pflugerville Literacy Pfirst
    The Pflugerville Literacy Pfirst Volunteer Program enlists community volunteers to help strengthen reading skills of first grade students through a reading program. The Program lasts 10 weeks beginning in November and ending in February. Volunteers must attend one an orientation. The orientation will teach volunteers strategies for reading with children in the primary grades at one of four elementary campuses: Barron, Dearing, Delco Primary and Timmerman.
    Barron Elementary:
    • Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday
    • 6 Spanish speaking volunteers – 8-10 a.m.
    • 6 English volunteers – 8-10 a.m.

    Dearing Elementary:
    • Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
    • 10 volunteers – 8-9 a.m.
    • 10 volunteers – 10-11 a.m.

    Delco Primary:
    • Monday/ Wednesday
    • 8 English volunteers – 12-2 p.m.
    • 8 Spanish-speaking volunteers – 12-2 p.m.

    Timmerman Elementary:
    • Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
    • 6 volunteers – 8:45-10 a.m.
    All district volunteers are required to complete an application and consent to a background check prior to volunteering. Click here for the Volunteer application.
