Teacher Certification Information
Welcome to the Pflugerville ISD Certification and information page. This page will assist with the route to certification, additional services provided through the Texas Education Agency, and NCLB information. Our goal is to provide guidance and resources to help our schools hire and maintain highly qualified teachers and educational associates.
How to become a Teacher in Texas:
All the links above, will link directly to the Texas Education Agency website. This website will explain the requirements and application process for each certification route.
**It is recommended that all Out-of-State and Out-of-Country applicants apply immediately for the “Out of State/Country” Review of Credentials. This process can take several weeks to complete. Once the review is complete TEA will let the applicant know via email, which TExES exams to take. TEA will also give the applicant a code to register for the exam.
Teachers Already Certified in Texas
All teachers employed with Pflugerville ISD must hold a Valid Texas Certificate and have a copy on file with the Office of Human Resources. The certificate must be valid for employment in Texas public schools.

No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Certification
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires school districts to publish their No Child Left Behind (NCLB )Highly Qualified Teacher Reports in a public domain.
To be considered highly qualified, the teacher must:
The NCLB Highly Qualified requirements for teachers should not be confused with the state's teacher certification requirements, there is no connection between the two.
For example, a teacher could be certified but not highly qualified according to NCLB.
