Happy Summer Mustangs!
We hope that everyone is off to a great summer and is remembering to read in between other fun activities. To help prevent regression over the summer, I challenge our students to read 100 minutes or more a week and try to limit access to technology to a maximum of an hour a day. We hope our student can have fun, enjoy being a kid, put down the technology and socialize this summer!
STAAR score for the 3-5th-grade STAAR will soon be made available for individual students and can be found by logging into the TEA student portal.
To access the TEA Student Portal, parents will need to find their student’s unique access code. This unique code may be found on the Confidential Student Report if your student has taken a STAAR test previously. If this is not the case, you soon should be able to obtain your student’s unique access by logging into the FOCUS Parent Portal. It should be marked on the bottom left side of the page as Texas Assessment Data Portal. If it is not yet posted, please check in later this week.

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th graders as we wrap up the first round of STAAR Testing. We will continue to test students that were absent as they return later this week. We will not be considered a “Closed Campus” on these make-up days. Thank you for partnering with us to provide a safe, secure and orderly testing environment over the last two days. We are often reminded of how amazing our students are and the last two days have been no exception!
Just a reminder to please drive carefully around the neighborhoods and the school. Since we have changed to daylight savings time, it is much darker during arrival time causing difficulty in seeing kids walking and biking to school. We appreciate your help in ensuring the safety of our students as they commute to and from school.
WHEN: Friday April 31st 2:55pm-All goneJ
WHERE: At the Green Love Bug table in the garden
Kale, Rainbow Chard, Onions, Sage, Rosemary, Cilantro, Green Onions, Radishes, Beets, Radicchio, and flowers!

Dear Mustang Families,
STAAR testing season is quickly approaching. As in previous years, please mark your calendars and be aware that Murchison will be a closed campus to all visitors and volunteers, including during lunch for parents, due to the administration of state testing on the following dates:.
Tuesday, March 28 (Gr. 4 Writing & Gr. 5 Math)
Wednesday, March 29 (Gr. 5 Reading)
Monday, May 8 (Gr. 3&4 Math)
Tuesday, May 9 (Gr. 3&4 Reading)
Wednesday, May 10 (Gr. 5 Science)
As we certainly feel this is just one measure of the many gains our students have made throughout this course of this school year, we appreciate your assistance in providing our students with a quiet and secure testing environment.

The Murchison Elementary Fun Run kicked off today with an exciting Pep Rally, and we are thrilled about this year's program! We've asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run program (which will last about two weeks), making our fundraising simpler, more profitable, and more fun. Our Fun Run includes all students in a fun, team-building, fitness event while helping our school raise much-needed funds.
This year, our entire school is raising funds for interaction boards and projectors. Our goal is to raise $25,000, and we need YOUR help!
Here's how you can support Murchison:
Register your student on funrun.com. To log in pledges, please register your child on funrun.com, using our school's registration code: 592-532. Students receive a FREE GIFT just by having their parent or guardian register them on funrun.com.
Reach out to sponsors. Connect with 10 sponsors. You can use social media in the pledging process and even create custom videos all of this is on funrun.com. Be sure to capture and record each sponsors e-mail address. They will also have an easy opportunity to pay for your students pledge by credit card online.
Ask your child about the BACKYARD BOX OFFICE Character Act of the day! This year's character theme is Backyard Box Office, a movie theme about making a difference by getting into character. Watch the fun videos with your child on funrun.com.
Come to the Fun Run on Friday, March 10th! All students are invited to participate, regardless of financial participation. Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps, and we would love for you to come out and cheer.
Thank you for supporting our school. We hope to see you next week at the Fun Run!

As we are always looking to problem solve our traffic issues, it has come to our attention that we have several visitors sitting in their cars in the morning on technology, before or after, dropping of their student. To assist with parking difficulty, due to the restricted number parking spaces available, we request that our families please vacate the parking spaces in a timely manner.
Hendrickson Hawk Cheer will be hosting a Little Cheerleader Workshop on Saturday, December 10th, from 9-11 in the HHS gym. The Little Cheerleaders will perform at the basketball game on December 16th. Join us as we learn chants, cheers, dances, stunting and tumbling! Cost: $30.00 (t-shirt included).
