May 20, 2016
The Pflugerville Education Foundation’s “SurPrize Patrol Team” on Friday, May 20 presented more than $34,000 in grants to Pflugerville ISD staff at eight campuses.
Proposals approved for grants included:
Timmerman Elementary: Creating Critical Thinkers and Future Leaders from Generation Z - $4,672.92
- Through weekly enrichment activities, students will be challenged to expand their thinking, discover creative solutions for simple to advanced problems, and develop effective group collaboration and communication skills
The Pflugerville Education Foundation’s Innovative Teaching Grants afford PfISD teachers the opportunity to win funding for innovative programs to be implemented within the district in the coming school year.
“PfISD teachers frequently spend their own money to enhance instruction on their campus and in the classrooms. The Pflugerville Education Foundation’s goal is to help bridge this funding gap,” said Foundation Executive Director Allison Kane. “The Foundation is delighted and proud to encourage new Pflugerville teachers while funding educational innovation. We have such an incredible staff of dedicated, committed and passionate educators in this district and we want to support them in every way possible.”
The funds for the grants are made possible through the contributions of PfISD staff, community members, parents, local businesses and corporate partners. For more information, contact Foundation Executive Director Allison Kane at 512-594-0375 or visit www.ThePFoundation.org
