UIL realignment

University Interscholastic League on Monday announced 2020-22 football, basketball and volleyball district assignments for high schools across Texas. Academic alignments will follow at a later date.

For the first time in years, Pflugerville ISD athletic programs were placed solely in Class 5A alignments for each of the sports.

Alignment is primarily based on total school enrollment, with Class 6A for campuses of 2,220 students or more. Class 5A schools range from 1,230 to 2,219 students.

Hendrickson High School athletics programs drop from Class 6A to Class 5A. In football, Hendrickson will join Pflugerville and Weiss in District 11 of Class 5A’s Division I. District 11 also includes Austin Anderson, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander and Manor.

For football only, Connally will be the lone Pflugerville school in District 13-5A, Division II, along with Bastrop, Brenham, Cedar Creek, Elgin, Georgetown East View and two Leander schools.

All four PfISD high schools will be in the same district in basketball and volleyball, with Connally joining the other three in District 18-5A. The district also includes two Bastrop schools, Elgin and Manor.
