Enroll in Two-Way Dual Language program

March 28, 2017

Pflugerville ISD will offer a Spanish Two-Way Dual Language Enrichment program for incoming kindergarten students for the 2017-18 school year.

The goal of the Two-Way DLE program is to produce students highly proficient in both English and Spanish. In the program, English language learners and Spanish language learners share the same teacher and classroom.

The Two-Way DLE program follows the same educational model as the district’s One-Way DLE program.

The Two-Way DLE program will be available at four elementary campuses: Ruth Barron, Caldwell, Highland Park and the new Mott Elementary. Kindergarten students from throughout PfISD are eligible to participate at whichever of the four campuses they select.

Slots for the Two-Way DLE kindergarten classes are now open. However, parents wishing to voluntary enroll their students in the program are required to attend of the following parent information sessions listed below:

  • Monday, April 3, 2017 6-7 p.m.
          Ruth Barron Elementary
  • Wednesday, April 5, 2017 6-7 p.m.
          Highland Park Elementary
  • Thursday, April 6, 2017 6-7 p.m.

Should more families express interest in the program than space allows, a lottery system will be utilized to determine the final selection of kindergarten candidates.
