Pfun Run
It’s time to go pfast for PACE.

The Third Annual Pflugerville Academic Center of Excellence (PACE) 5K Pfun Run takes place at 9 a.m. May 6 at Bohls Park. Proceeds for the event go to the PACE school activity fund, which pays for equipment, scholarships and events for the campus.

“The Pfun Run helps bring in money for activities and our scholarship fund. If we can help someone reduce that financial barrier for college, that’s what it’s all about,” said PACE Principal Mike Harvey. “A lot of the students here are working their way through different obstacles. They can be pretty inspiring to see, and we get close to them here at PACE, so we aim to provide them with whatever assistance we possibly can lend.”

PACE is the Pflugerville ISD dropout prevention program. Students must each apply and be referred by their home campus principal or counselor to attend the full-time high school diploma program.

Registration for the Pfun Run is $20. Awards will be presented to the top individual finisher and the top school entry.

Participants receive race shirts and goodie bags, and there will be random drawings for items from event sponsors. The run will include music, water stations and after-race nourishment as well.

Bohls Park is located at 200 Immanuel Road, Pflugerville. Free parking is available at the Pflugerville Parks and Recreation building on Immanuel Road.

The course is an out-and-back layout, primarily on concrete, in downtown Pflugerville, following the Gilleland Creek Trail.

PACE students will serve as volunteers at the event, assisting with check-in, water stations and clean-up.

Runners are asked to arrive at least 45 minutes before race time to check in and stretch.

Anyone interested in serving as an event sponsor should contact Mike Harvey at PACE, at 512-594-1900. To register as a participant, visit: .
