A letter from Assistant Principal Walker
Dear Cub Families,
My name is Valerie Walker, and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new assistant principal of Copperfield Elementary. I am honored to have been chosen to join Mrs. Arenaz and her amazing faculty and staff who are known for their dedication to excellence in education, and most importantly, their dedication to our children.
Over the past 13 years, I have worked as a teacher and as an administrator who advocates for what’s best for children. It is important to me to spend time with your children getting to know their personalities, interests, and what helps them learn best. I will encourage them daily and help them know they are valued in our school community. I am also a parent; I have a 15-year-old daughter, Makaila, who wakes up thinking about volleyball and goes to sleep dreaming about it, too!
I can’t wait to share with you the great things your children do at Copperfield! I believe it takes everyone in a child’s circle of influence to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. That said, I’ll be here to help them navigate school life, and I encourage you to communicate with your child’s teacher and me if you ever have any questions or concerns throughout their years as Cubs with us. Communication is so important to our partnership as we work together to see our children grow.
It is going to be a great year! Please don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment with me or stop by to discuss any ways I can help make this year a success for your child and for our Cub family.
