Destination Imagination teams advance to state

March 8, 2017 

Three Pflugerville ISD Destination Imagination teams will advance to the state Destination Imagination tournament in Lubbock next month.

PfISD teams qualified for state after competing in the 2017 annual Destination Imagination Capital Region Tournament Saturday, March 4, in Austin.

In Destination Imagination events, teams are tasked with solving a variety of mentally challenging, critical thinking problems, in different categories.

Advancing teams are:

• Legendary Apple Doom Skullz (Pflugerville Middle School): Show and Tech Challenge
Team members: Adeline Blust, Astrid Quezeda, Alex Ray, Carmen Garcia, Elena Howard, Kenneth Kalu and Rudolf Bendixon
• The Secret Coding Bananas (Pflugerville Elementary School): Top Secret Challenge
Team members: Espy Gonzalez, Zoe Zivley, Oliva Minor, Katie Tran, Matthew Lozano, Gabby Flores and Aubrey Santos
• The Silent but Deadlies (Timmerman Elementary School): Ready, Willing and Fable Challenge
Team members: Luna Garcia, Bryce Howard, Frankie O’Shaughnessy, Lexi Lawson, Helga Mueller and Angelina Gawlik

The Texas DI Affiliate Tournament takes place April 7-8 at United Supermarkets Arena and Coronado and Monterey high schools in Lubbock.
