Windermere Primary welcomes new principal

Aug. 27, 2018

Terri Floyd Windermere Primary School’s new principal is Terri Floyd, who brings 25 years of experience in education to the campus.

Floyd began her career as an elementary teacher in Redwater ISD in 1993, and most recently served as an elementary principal in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD near Fort Worth.

Feeling as if a grandmother to each of her students, Floyd noted she’s extremely excited to serve this campus community and its learners.

“I’m loving my job. These students are so full of joy,” she said. “I’ve found the community to be open and welcoming.

“I enthusiastically believe education should advance learners’ curiosity and imagination and inspire every person to greatness.”

Floyd has also worked as a curriculum specialist, instructional consultant, literacy coach, writer and presenter. She has also served in public education with the following:

  • Coppell ISD,
  • Sulphur Springs ISD,
  • Region 10 Educational Service Center (Dallas)
  • and Lewisville ISD.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, and a principal’s certification and master’s in educational administration from the University of North Texas.

She invites the Windermere Primary community to stop by the campus from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 for the school open house or during regular hours of operation (7:05 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Monday through Friday).
