Changes made to Connally, Weiss administration teams
June 25, 2020
Pflugerville ISD Superintendent Dr. Doug Killian has announced changes to administration teams at Connally and Weiss high schools for the 2020-21 school year. Five members of the Weiss administration, including Principal Paula Gamble, will take over at Connally for the next school year, while five members of the Connally administrative team, including principal Sheila Reed, will begin serving at Weiss in August.
Both principals will bring with them members of their administrative teams currently serving as associate principal, assistant principals, lead counselor and college and career advisor.
Dr. Killian said he began thinking of the change in January when analyzing each campus's needs and the strengths of his administrators already in PfISD, to determine the best fit for both schools.
“We have great leaders here in PfISD, all with a unique set of strengths and leadership skills," Dr. Killian said. "Both Connally and Weiss have made great strides in the past several years under the current administrative leadership, and I know that the unique strengths these leaders bring to the table will help both Connally and Weiss move to the next level.”
Pflugerville ISD is fortunate to have a large group of leaders who are always looking for new challenges to grow communities. There is often an opportunity for higher growth on a campus with a new leadership team and a fresh outlook.
Ms. Reed began her career as a fourth-grade teacher in Austin ISD and held several administrator roles in Austin ISD before arriving at Connally High School in 2008. In the past 12 years, she has served as associate principal and principal at Connally. She received her bachelor's degree from Huston-Tillotson and her master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ms. Gamble served as a coach and English teacher at both the high school and middle school level in several school districts in Texas, including Bryan ISD, College Station ISD, Hearne ISD, Round Rock ISD and Hutto ISD. She started in Pflugerville ISD in 2004 as the Dean of Students at Park Crest Middle School. She later served as assistant principal at Hendrickson High School and principal at Park Crest Middle School before being named principal of Weiss High School.
