March 23, 2020 Update

Posted by David Wiechmann on 3/23/2020

Dear Eagle Families,

I hope this letter finds you well, in the midst of these unprecedented times.  I know you are probably feeling similar to me with some uncertainty and even fear, as the unknown often creates.  I’m sure you’ve seen multiple communications from the district and taken information from local and national news, as well.  The schools are temporary closed, which is like nothing that most of us have ever experienced.

I know with school closures and local business closures due to Covid-19, our lives are anything but normal, but the Eagle Staff would like to do anything we can to support our students and our community.  Staff members are working diligently on ways to communicate with our DRES families, so that we can support learning from home.  In the meantime, we will be posting a little something on our facebook page, each day for learning or connection piece that we hope you and your child will watch.  Please keep an eye out for updates from your child’s teacher in the upcoming days for resources and suggestions.  Keep in mind, activities shared on facebook and/or by your child’s teacher are not intended to add something to your plate in these difficult times, but just a little something to keep our students going and help us stay connected with them. (We miss our Eagles.)

In addition to learning, keeping our spirits up is equally important.  This week we have a Virtual Spirit Week.  This was sent out both on PTO facebook page and DRES facebook page, but I will include with this message, as well.  We invite you to participate with your child and encourage you to post your pics on our facebook page.  We want to keep our community as connected as possible and we love seeing our DRES families.

I will share more information with you, throughout the week, as I receive it.  Stay safe!

Participate in our Virtual School Spirit Week! Check out this link for activities and ways to stay connected with your fellow Dearing Eagles all week long by posting photos and tagging Dearing's Facebook page!
