Good Morning Eagle Families,

We got through our official first day of virtual instruction, yesterday, and are beginning day 2. The first day did not go off without glitches. Teachers have shared with me various technology issues that came up and have worked through many, but are continuing to problem solve solutions. Overall, I’ve seen quite a few positive responses, which we really appreciate. Most of all, we appreciate your patience and working with us to provide the best education that we can for our students, considering the circumstances.

A couple of things that I wanted to quickly address:

  • First, I know you are inundated with communications from the district, teacher and campus. I will do my best, moving forward, to try and send out only one communication, per week.

  • If you have not received a communication from your child’s teacher, please send an email to teacher and to our registrar @ Diana.Gutierrez@pfisd.net as we may not have an up to date email on file.

  • Some teachers would like to use Zoom, as the platform for interaction with your child or small groups of children, which is a live interaction. I will be including a link below for you to complete, if you are NOT comfortable with that. By completing the form, you will opt your child out of any live interaction.

  • While your child’s teacher may be including social emotion learning with their lessons, our counselor and social worker also wanted to share some information about additional support during this challenging time.

  • It is not necessary for your child to do the digital learning that teachers are sharing AND the paper learning plan that is provided at our breakfast and lunch locations.

  • If you are choosing for your child to do the paper learning plan, be sure to pick-up from one of the breakfast/lunch locations that have been shared, NOT at Dearing.

  • Last, remember that breakfast and lunch are available at those locations for ALL children PK-12th grade for free.

Again, I thank you for all of your patience and support. We will get through this together!! Warmest Regards,

    Christy Chandler
